Job summary

Mr. Handyman of E. Nashville & Hendersonville is seeking a skilled Carpenter Handyman to join our team. You will perform a variety of home maintenance and repair tasks, including drywall, mounting, siding, and light electrical; you will work to do the job right the first time, reflecting our Done Right Promise.

You’ll work largely on-site with homeowners, manage expectations, and document work while delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• 8+ years’ paid handyman experience.
• Own your own tools.
• Be insurable to drive the company vehicle.
• Complete a background and driving record check.
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Able to work safely at heights and overhead for extended periods.
• Professional appearance and maintenance of the company-provided vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and repairs for home and small commercial projects with durations from two hours to two days.
• Communicate with customers to manage expectations about scope and costs.
• Deliver a great service experience to create life-long, repeat customers.
• Self-manage as you’ll often be solo on jobs.
• Speak with customers and collect payments while providing excellent service.
• Use the necessary tools and technology to document the job.
• Follow the Mr. Handyman Way and wear PPE and booties to protect customer homes.

Some work you will do right away includes, Drywall repair, TV wall mounting, fence repair and building, furniture assembly, Siding repair, light electrical (switch replacement and troubleshooting.) Bathroom renovations.

Your Responsibilities As a Carpenter Handyman Professional

• Completing Maintenance & Repairs – You’ll be completing small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects. The project length can range from two hours to two days.
• Making Recommendations and Managing Expectations with Customers – You’ll communicate with customers to help them understand what they need to have done and manage expectations about the scope of work and costs.
• Create Life-Long Customers – Deliver a great experience that wows life-long repeat customers. You will follow the Mr. Handyman Way - a repeatable process that makes it easy to wow the customer every time.
• You’ll need to self-manage as you’ll be alone often.
• You’ll need to speak with customers and provide excellent customer service while asking for reviews and collecting payments.
• You’ll need to have the necessary tools, including the ability to use technology.
• You'll need to document the job while following our process, the Mr. Handyman Way.
• You’ll need to wear proper PPE as well as booties to protect our customer’s home.

Job Requirements For Carpenter Handyman

These are the minimum requirements to be considered for this position.

• Live within the area
• Have 8+ years’ experience as a paid handyman

• Able to safely work at heights and work overheard for extended periods of time
• Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle

As an experienced Carpenter/Handyman, you have strong proficiency in at least three (3) of the following:

• Carpentry work
• Bathroom improvements
• Kitchen improvements
• Painting, both inside and out
• Drywall work, minor and major repairs
• General plumbing and electrical, where allowed by law
• Floor installation and refurbishing
• Familiar with building codes
• Gutter Cleaning
• Siding Repair
