You will perform metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustic ceiling work, and install doors/frames, with a focus on quality workmanship and safety. Flexibility for varying schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites.
• Flexibility to work weekends and nighttime shifts as required.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal framing, drywall installation, and finishing according to project specs.

• Prepare tools, materials, and PPE; coordinate with the Production Manager as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site and dispose of debris daily.
• Provide progress updates, hours worked, and photos to the Production Manager.
• Communicate delays, access issues, safety concerns, or client requests promptly.

Position Description

PCM Services is a commercial contractor in Beltsville, MD, which performs work across the DC/Baltimore metro areas and is seeking a skilled Construction Mechanic to support commercial construction and remodeling projects. This role involves working on interior build-outs and renovations, including metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustic ceiling systems, installation of commercial doors and frames, and general remodeling of offices and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Execute general construction and interior build-out tasks, ranging from single-day assignments to multi-week commercial projects
• Perform metal framing, drywall installation, and drywall finishing in accordance with project specifications
• Install acoustic ceiling systems, commercial doors, frames, and related hardware
• Assist with office and commercial building remodeling, including demolition and reconstruction
• Review project schedules, job sheets, and instructions provided by the Production Manager to fully understand requirements
• Identify and gather necessary tools, materials, and PPE for each task; coordinate with the Production Manager as needed
• Report to assigned job sites on schedule and check in with on-site contacts when applicable
• Provide daily updates to the Production Manager, including hours worked, progress, estimated completion timelines, and job site photos
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, including proper disposal of debris and materials at the end of each shift
• Communicate any issues such as delays, access problems, safety concerns, or additional client requests to the Production Manager promptly

Position Requirements
