Job summary

PCM Services, a Beltsville, MD-based commercial contractor, is seeking a skilled Construction Mechanic to support interior build-outs and remodeling on projects across the DC/Baltimore area.

You will perform metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustic ceiling work, and install doors/frames, with a focus on quality workmanship and safety. Flexibility for varying schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites.
• Flexibility to work weekends and nighttime shifts as required.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal framing, drywall installation, and finishing according to project specs.
• Install acoustic ceilings, doors, frames, and related hardware.
• Assist with interior build-outs and office remodeling activities.
• Review schedules and job sheets with the Production Manager to understand requirements.
• Prepare tools, materials, and PPE; coordinate with the Production Manager as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site and dispose of debris daily.
• Provide progress updates, hours worked, and photos to the Production Manager.
• Communicate delays, access issues, safety concerns, or client requests promptly.
