Job summary

Havenside is hiring skilled Handy Experts in the Pittsburgh area. Join a specialty construction group focused on renovations, safety upgrades, and home repair.

You’ll work directly with homeowners, tackling a range of hands-on projects and delivering quality workmanship. You’ll manage your own schedule with support from the Construction Team, diagnose issues, install and repair fixtures, and keep job sites clean and safe.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance, home repair, or related trade.
• Ability to read repair manuals, work orders, and basic diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Tackle hands-on repair and maintenance projects across multiple trades.
• Diagnose issues and implement lasting solutions.
• Install, assemble, and repair fixtures and appliances.
• Inspect properties for repair needs and safety concerns.
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep homes running smoothly.
• Document work with accurate records and keep tools in good shape.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Tackling a variety of hands-on repair and maintenance projects — carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and more
• Using your problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and find smart, lasting solutions
• Installing, assembling, and repairing fixtures, appliances, and equipment
• Inspecting properties to catch repair needs and safety concerns before they become bigger problems
• Performing preventative maintenance that keeps homes running smoothly
• Keeping your company provided tools, equipment, and vehicle in top shape
• Building strong customer relationships through clear, friendly communication
• Working safely and by the book, following codes and company best practices
• Documenting your work with accurate, organized records
• Leaving every job site clean, safe, and looking sharp

What You Bring to the Table

• A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• At least 2 years of experience in general maintenance, home repair, or related trade
• Solid working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
• The ability to read and follow repair manuals, work orders, and basic diagrams
• Sharp problem-solving skills and strong time management
• Confidence working independently, with minimal oversight
• A genuine passion for great customer service
• Comfort with basic computer/(iPad)tools — email, calendars, Microsoft Word
• A valid driver’s license

Bonus Points If You Have

• Trade certifications or vocational training
• Experience in residential, property management, or facilities maintenance
• EPA -(RRP Lead), OSHA, or other safety certifications

The Physical Side of the Job

This is an active, hands-on role. You should be comfortable:

• Standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending throughout the day
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Working both indoors and outdoors, in a range of weather conditions
• Operating hand and power tools safely
• Navigating active job sites, including uneven terrain, gravel, mud, and unfinished surfaces
• Using your vision and hearing to stay sharp and safe on the job
