Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a Mechanic Assistant - Vehicle Maintenance to perform standard service adjustments on district vehicles and to keep them in safe operating condition. The role requires two years of mechanical and diesel experience, a valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record, and a willingness to work full-time 40 hours per week with full benefits.

Arizona CDL license is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Two years’ mechanical and diesel experience.
• Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record.
• Arizona CDL license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain tires.
• Service equipment by changing oil, lubricate moving parts, change filters and make service adjustments.
• Check vehicles for worn parts; report and repair as appropriate.
• Assist mechanic with equipment repairs.
• Keep accurate service records on gas, oil, parts, etc.
• Perform required paperwork and recordkeeping in a timely, neat and legible manner.
• Perform refueling of district vehicles; may wash buses and pump gas.
