Job summary

T1 Energy in Rockdale, Texas is hiring Equipment Engineers to keep TOPCon solar cell tools running in a 24/7 fab. This hands-on role centers on thermal diffusion and oxidation furnaces, tool health, and data-driven maintenance.

You will own OEE and MTBF, perform root-cause analysis, write procedures, and train technicians. The job is on-site with an on-call rotation and requires a degree plus 3+ years in high-volume manufacturing or semiconductors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent hands-on associate degree.
• 3+ years of hands-on equipment engineering in semiconductor, solar, or similar high-volume manufacturing.
• Hands-on repair of diffusion/oxidation furnaces, heating elements, gas delivery, vacuum and pressure control, and boat handling.
• Component-level troubleshooting from schematics, P&IDs, and PLC/HMI diagnostics.
• Track record of eliminating chronic equipment failures, not just recurring repairs.
• Safe work practice with toxic and corrosive process gases and high-temperature systems.

Responsibilities

• Own OEE, availability, MTBF, and MTTR for your toolset.
• Be first on the tool when it goes down, diagnose the failure, and restore it.
• Close root causes on chronic failures using 8D, FMEA, and Pareto; verify fixes.
• Analyze alarm histories and maintenance records to spot failure trends.
• Own the PM schedule and vendor PM procedures; set critical-spares levels.
