Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions LLC seeks a Steel Truss Bridge Design Engineer to join our team. You will provide technical support, perform structural analysis, and collaborate with in‑house engineers, consultants, and fabrication staff on short- to medium-span pedestrian and vehicular bridge projects for national clients.

Responsibilities include design services, drawings and calculations, project coordination, and ensuring fabrication aligns with design drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Civil with Structural emphasis preferred.
• PE license with a minimum of 2 years reviewing and sealing work.
• 6–10 years of experience in structural steel or bridge design.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel required.
• Experience with AutoCAD, finite element analysis, and/or structural analysis software preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
• High-level analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design services: create project-specific drawings and calculations to support sales and site plans.
• Structural analysis: analyze bridge elements, superstructures, foundations and walls.
• Collaborate with in‑house engineers, CAD techs, sales and consultants.
• Provide technical support to operations and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate with field staff and marketing to address design questions.
• Review others' design work for accuracy and observe fabrication on site.
• Maintain engineering standards, policies and procedures; assist training.
• Develop technical papers and product literature as needed.
• Develop and modify specifications; participate in technical committees.
• Maintain knowledge via continuing education and industry events.
• Occasional travel to job sites for technical support and evaluation.
