Job summary

Melwood is seeking a reliable and motivated Stationary Engineer Apprentice to join our Engineering/Facilities team. The selected candidate will work under the direction of experienced Stationary Engineers and maintenance personnel while gaining practical, hands-on experience in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of building mechanical systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma preferred.
Interest in stationary engineering, HVAC, mechanical systems, building operations, or facilities maintenance.
Willingness to learn through hands-on training and instruction.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and building personnel.
Dependable, punctual, and willing to take direction.
Ability to follow established safety procedures and workplace policies.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate building mechanical systems and equipment.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, air-handling units, pumps, compressors, and generators.
Perform routine inspections and documenting equipment conditions.
Assist with preventative maintenance and scheduled maintenance activities.
Respond to building maintenance requests and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.
