Job summary

robusta is seeking a hands-on Solution Architect to own the technical shape of complex, multi-service platform solutions from vision through to delivery. You will translate requirements into a coherent architecture, defend the decisions that constrain how the system is built, and stay engaged through implementation to ensure what ships matches what was designed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in an architecture role on large, multi-service systems.
Hands-on software background to review code and design credibly.
Strong command of distributed system design, microservices, API design and versioning, and event-driven architecture.
Deep experience with Java and Spring Boot or equivalent enterprise platform.
Strong data architecture skills and security architecture expertise.
Experience designing for cloud-native or containerized deployment (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and CI/CD.
Excellent stakeholder communication; able to explain technical positions to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end solution architecture for assigned platforms and workstreams.
Translate requirements into architectural decisions and document trade-offs.
Produce and maintain architecture deliverables: vision, high-level design, integration designs, decision records.
Define service boundaries, API contracts, data ownership and event models.
Design integration with external systems and anti-corruption patterns.
Define non-functional posture: scalability, availability, performance, resilience, observability.
Embed security and compliance into architecture and work with security stakeholders.
Lead design reviews and ensure implementation stays true to architecture.
Evaluate technologies and vendors with evidence-based recommendations.
Identify architectural risks and dependencies and drive decisions to closure.
Support estimation, scoping and delivery planning with product and delivery leadership.
