Job summary

Teak Isle Manufacturing is seeking a dependable Ship/Pack Associate to construct cartons and crates by hand, measure components, and pack products for shipment with precision. The role includes inspecting shipments, correcting labeling and quantities, and communicating any defects to leadership.

You will routinely use hand tools, operate a forklift for loading, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment with high temperatures. Cross-training in related packing tasks is possible as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout shifts.
• Prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling during packing tasks.
• Read and interpret measurements in inches for packaging specs.
• Work in non-climate-controlled environments with high temperatures.
• Ability to meet time-sensitive shipping deadlines.
• Operate a forklift to load shipments when required.

Responsibilities

• Construct cartons/boxes by hand from stock using tools and machinery.
• Measure parts to select correct box/crate sizes for shipments.
• Pack products to prevent movement and reduce waste in transit.
• Inspect shipments for correct vendor labels and quantities.
• Notify leadership of defects or shortages affecting shipments.
• Review orders to ensure correct shipping specifications.
• Operate forklift to load shipments onto trucks.
• Perform all packing functions and related duties.
