Qualifications

• Veterinary or shelter medicine experience.
• Experience managing staff and daily operations.
• Strong veterinary technical skills including medication administration, surgical prep/recovery, triage, blood draws, wound care, and emergency response.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Experience with fear-free/low-stress handling.
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, supervise, and support the Medical Department team.
• Manage schedules, workflow, supplies, medications, and inventory.
• Provide hands-on patient care and support veterinary treatment plans.
• Monitor shelter animal health, vaccinations, disease control, and medical records.
• Work with veterinarians, foster, adoption, behavior, pet care, and animal control teams.
• Maintain medical protocols, equipment, and regulatory compliance.
• Help create a positive, organized, and supportive work environment.
