Job summary

Laminar is seeking a detail-oriented lab-focused engineer to join our sensor testing team in Somerville. You will design and execute experiments, prepare samples, and analyze data to characterize new sensor performance.

You will maintain rigorous lab notebooks, write and refine SOPs, and collaborate across engineering to improve calibration and measurement techniques for our cutting-edge sensing stack. This role involves hands-on lab work and close teamwork in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications

Must be detail-oriented and able to follow experimental procedures with rigor.
Experience with lab notebooks and SOPs to ensure reproducibility.
Ability to analyze data and present results to engineering teams.
Willingness to work across a range of engineering tasks to improve sensors.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with sensor R&D to design tests and analyze data.
Run material fingerprinting and concentration tests and build slides for customers.
Prepare samples at known concentrations following lab safety protocols.
Calculate LODs for chemicals using statistical methods.
Maintain a lab notebook and SOPs to ensure reproducible experiments.
Design, test and refine calibration procedures for new sensing stack.
