Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International seeks a senior technology leader focused on GNSS receiver design and GPS/GNSS navigation in harsh environments. You will drive signal processing, sensor fusion, and Kalman filtering at the application level, with scope to expand into APNT and multi-technology integration.

You will stay closely connected to engineering, mentoring a small specialist team and shaping long-term tech strategy in collaboration with the CTO.

Qualifications

• Active, hands-on expertise in GNSS / GPS and navigation.
• Strong fundamentals in sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, and signal processing.
• Track record delivering commercial products in defence, aerospace, or navigation markets.
• Willing to stay hands-on at senior level.

Responsibilities

• Own GNSS hardware design and GPS/GNSS navigation development as the day-one priority.
• Apply deep expertise in sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, and signal processing to live engineering challenges.
• Drive R&D across GNSS, INS, and IMU product lines.
• Contribute to APNT innovation, from alternatives to GPS, LiDAR, vision-based navigation, quantum sensing.
• Architect and build hands-on across inertial navigation and positioning technologies.
• Mentor and lead a small, highly specialised engineering team.
• Collaborate directly with the CTO to shape long-term technology strategy.
