Job summary

Stridar is seeking a Robotics Hardware Engineer to design and build unmanned ground vehicles. The role is hands-on, focusing on integrating sensors, actuators, power systems, and embedded hardware into rugged robotic platforms for real-world deployment.

You’ll work across hardware development, testing, and field support, collaborating with software engineers to ensure robust hardware-software integration and scalable platform performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or related field)
  • Experience working on robotic systems in a lab, research group, robotics program, or industry
  • Strong understanding of robotic hardware and electromechanical systems
  • Experience working with sensors, motors, actuators, or robotic control systems
  • Ability to work in a hands-on engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop new generations of robotic ground vehicle platforms from prototyping to production
  • Design and develop robotic hardware components including actuators, sensors, power systems, and mechanical structures
  • Integrate hardware from partners and military units
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure hardware/software integration
  • Troubleshoot and debug systems and hardware components
  • Support development of field-ready systems and repair instructions
  • Stay current on emerging robotics technologies and hardware innovations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Support manufacturing with instructions, specifications and guidelines
  • Identify vendors and work with Operations on sourcing and selection
