IBM Research invites you to join our Quantum Hardware Test Engineering Intern cohort in Poughkeepsie, NY. You’ll contribute to assembling and validating dilution refrigerator assemblies, wiring, and subsystems for superconducting qubit systems, gaining hands-on experience in cryogenic hardware and test automation.

The role targets students pursuing EE, physics, mechanical engineering, or CS, with a passion for solving complex hardware challenges.

Qualifications

• Studies in EE, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or CS
• Proficient in electrical test and design of experiments
• Programming knowledge for test automation
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems
• Desire/interest to work in the field of system assembling and validation

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and wiring components inside the dilution refrigerator
• Test and troubleshoot those installations
• Investigate methodologies to improve our assemblies
