Job summary

System One, Inc. in St. Charles, IL is seeking a hands-on Quality & Lab Technician to join our manufacturing team.

You will perform product testing, inspections, calibration, and document results to ensure quality standards are met. This role requires mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with gauges, calipers, micrometers, and GD&T basics, with a focus on accuracy and traceability in a lab and production environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, maintenance, or a similar hands-on technical role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with calibration, gauges, measuring tools, or inspection equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Basic electrical/electronics knowledge is a plus.
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
• Conduct product testing and laboratory testing as needed.
• Calibrate and maintain gauges, measuring devices, and lab equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and basic GD&T.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair basic instrumentation and equipment.
• Document inspection results, test data, and calibration records.
• Identify quality issues and communicate findings to the appropriate teams.
• Assist with customer complaints, returns, and internal quality improvement projects.
• Work with manufacturing and shop floor personnel as needed.
