Job summary

Thermal Works LLC is seeking a hands-on Product Testing Technician to support R&D lab operations and test thermal systems and components used in product development and validation. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot test loops and collect performance data.

Ideal candidates have refrigeration and hydronic experience, working knowledge of electrical power, and the ability to read schematics and P&IDs. You will contribute to system improvements and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with refrigeration systems.
• Experience with hydronic systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems (single- and three-phase power).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Proven troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in lab testing or product development is preferred.
• Familiarity with controls, sensors, and instrumentation.
• HVAC/R technical training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and modify thermal system test loops.
• Perform hands-on testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Support development and execution of test procedures.
• Collect and validate performance data (temperature, flow, pressure, power).
• Identify issues and support root cause analysis.
• Assist with system improvements and design feedback.
• Maintain lab equipment and testing infrastructure.
• Ensure safe handling of refrigerants and compliance with applicable regulations.
