Job summary

TalentBridge in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join its growing engineering team on site. You will develop new mechanical products from early-stage concept through design validation and production release, turning customer needs into manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable with concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and refinement, and can balance performance, cost, durability, and manufacturability across multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design or product development experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or another 3D CAD platform.
• Experience creating production-ready 3D models, drawings, and documentation.
• Experience moving designs from CAD to prototyping, testing, and release.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, tolerances, and materials.
• Familiarity with PDM or product-data management environments.
• Effective problem-solving and hands-on prototype handling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration with engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop new mechanical products from concept through production release.
• Translate customer needs into engineering solutions.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation.
• Evaluate multiple design concepts based on performance and cost.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability to enable efficient production.
• Build and test prototypes to validate concepts.
• Plan and conduct product testing, validation, and design verification.
• Analyze test results and refine designs iteratively.
• Reverse engineer existing products when needed.
• Manage engineering changes and maintain CAD/PDM data.
• Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators, and internal stakeholders.
• Own development projects from concept to final release.
