Job summary

Ohio Gratings, Inc in Canton, OH seeks a detail-oriented press operator to safely run manual presses for punching, shearing, and serrating operations on steel and aluminum bars. You will load material, align parts, cycle presses, and monitor quality throughout each run.

The role requires reading diagrams, using tape measures, and performing basic maintenance while adhering to strict safety protocols and ERP reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and interpret job travelers, procedures, and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual press equipment to punch, shear, or serrate on steel and aluminum bars or shapes.
• Load raw material onto press tables using forklifts and align bars to end gauges or spacers.
• Activate and cycle the press using control panel hand trips or foot pedals.
• Set and adjust air clamps, end gauges, spacing indicators, and die oil application frequency.
• Assist in setups and changeovers; perform basic PMs as required.
• Verify die setup and inspect for wear, clean and lubricate components.
• Complete pre-shift maintenance checks and enter accurate ERP data.
