Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a motivated Pipefitter Helper to support our field teams on commercial mechanical construction projects. This entry-level role offers hands-on training alongside experienced Pipefitters, with opportunities to learn piping materials, tools, and safe work practices on active job sites.

Responsibilities include assisting with piping installation, measuring and cutting, preparing pipe ends, and helping with pressure testing.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role suitable for beginners.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, or mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Piping Installation
• Assist Pipefitters with layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems
• Help measure, cut, prepare, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools
• Assist with installation of pipes, valves, fittings, supports, and related components
• Prepare pipe ends by grinding, cleaning, and applying sealants as required
• Support installation of heating, cooling, hydronic, and other piping systems
• Assist with pressure testing and checking piping systems for leaks
