Job summary

VIGO Photonics USA in Stuart, Florida is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead assembly operations on the day shift. You will manage a six-person Assembly Team, prioritize work, and ensure quality while collaborating with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Operations.

The ideal candidate has a technical or engineering background and proven leadership in a highly technical manufacturing environment, preferably in optics or photonics, with strong problem-solving skills on the floor.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or engineering background required.
• Experience supervising manufacturing or assembly teams.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication for cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on supervision to a team of six Assembly Technicians.
• Prioritize and pace work in the assembly area.
• Identify delays and bottlenecks; resolve issues.
• Ensure understanding of drawings, specs, quality expectations.
• Serve as primary contact for Engineering and R&D.
• Investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Support development of assembly procedures and tooling.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain production flow.
• Advanced proficiency in precision soldering and microsoldering on microelectronic components.
