Quality Vision International Inc. is seeking an Optical Systems Manufacturing Engineer II to provide hands-on support for assembling, testing, and documenting optical components and subassemblies in Rochester, NY.

The role focuses on building products, documenting processes, and transitioning new designs from engineering to production. Core tasks include using inspection/test equipment, supporting design evaluations, and maintaining performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optics or relevant field or associate's degree in Optical Technology with 5+ years of related experience.
• Functional experience in optical assembly and metrology.
• Experience troubleshooting complex machine systems comprising electrical, mechanical, optical, and software subsystems to the component level.

Responsibilities

• Build new and enhanced optical subsystems as required by the design.
• Design evaluations of optical systems to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis of new and existing optical systems to ensure satisfaction of specifications.
• Partner with Optics Manufacturing to address assembly and manufacturability that maximizes productivity while minimizing error and performance compromises.
• Assist in production of thin film optical coatings and in troubleshooting coating equipment maintenance.
