Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mechanical engineering intern enrolled at UMass Lowell to support testing, development, and design of products. You will work with 3D CAD tools, learn CAM/CNC basics, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a lab setting.

The role requires completion of the 2nd/3rd year of study, availability for six months, and hands-on aptitude with hand tools, with safety compliance in a lab environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Mechanical Engineering at University of Massachusetts Lowell.
• Completed 2nd or 3rd year.
• Must be available for the entire 6 month assignment.
• Experience with SolidWorks/Inventor.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in coursework or other activities.
• Presentation of projects either course related or outside interests.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering and Tech-Ops on testing, development, and design of existing and new products.
• Report to the Sr. Mgr, Engineering (ME).
• Participate in lab test setup and perform experiments.
• Work with 3D CAD.
• Learn basics of CAM/CNC to support prototyping.
• Collaborate with a diverse, dynamic, multifunctional team environment.
