Job summary

Gutchess Lumber Co., Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator in Latrobe, PA. This hands-on role requires you to learn how your part affects the entire production process, operate and monitor equipment, and keep lumber moving efficiently.

You’ll work on a crew, perform basic maintenance, and stay focused on safety while developing skills in equipment and process understanding for future growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to perform physical work, including lifting 50+ pounds.
• Able to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience in manufacturing or hands-on environments is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment and keep lumber moving through the process.
• Straighten and position boards on conveyors and watch for quality issues.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Recognize when something doesn't look, sound, or operate correctly and report it.
• Learn equipment, processes and take on increasing responsibility over time.
• Work as part of a crew where teammates depend on each other to keep production running.
