Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Technician to support hands-on testing of laundry equipment in a laboratory setting. You will keep test units and life-test equipment running, set up tests, troubleshoot issues, and document results while collaborating with technicians and product teams.

The role emphasizes mechanical/electrical aptitude, use of standard tools, and safe handling of powered equipment. This is a contract position based in Saint Joseph, MI.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude for disassembly/reassembly of appliances and components.
• Experience with assembly, build and repair using standard hand tools and test equipment.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and performance issues in equipment and test fixtures.
• Basic proficiency with Word/Excel/Google Suite to input data and create simple reports.
• Understanding of voltage and safe handling of electrically powered equipment.
• Experience using scales and weights to prepare test loads and verify test conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support hands-on testing of commercial laundry equipment.
• Set up and maintain tests; keep test units and life-test equipment running.
• Document results accurately and contribute to fixture development.
• Collaborate with technicians and product teams for continuous improvements.
