Job summary

New General Café & Coffee Bar in Winter Park, FL is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Lead to manage daily BOH operations and uphold recipe standards. This role emphasizes leadership, training, and maintaining quality in a fast-paced café environment.

You will lead shifts, ensure food safety, and coordinate with the front-of-house team to deliver consistent dishes with strong presentation and timely service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or kitchen leadership experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or café environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the BOH team during assigned shifts.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to New General recipes and standards.
• Maintain food quality, proper portioning, presentation, and ticket times.
• Ensure the kitchen is properly prepped, stocked, clean, and organized.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Help train and coach kitchen team members.
• Hold team members accountable to expectations and procedures.
• Help reduce food waste and product loss.
• Maintain positive communication between the BOH and FOH teams.
• Communicate staffing, equipment, and operational concerns to management.
