Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts Education, Technology Education, Career and Technical Education, or a related field.
• Valid Vermont teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) with an appropriate endorsement.
• Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and industry-standard practices.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience teaching middle and/or high school students.
• Experience with woodworking, metalworking, CAD drafting, engineering design, manufacturing, construction technology, or related fields.
• Industry certifications or professional trade experience.
• Experience incorporating STEM and project-based learning into instruction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
• Teach Industrial Arts and Technology Education courses to both middle and high school students.
• Provide instruction in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Foster a safe, organized, and positive classroom and workshop environment.
• Design hands-on projects that develop technical skills, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Integrate STEM concepts, engineering principles, technology, and career exploration into instruction.
• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback to support growth.
• Maintain shop safety procedures and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
• Manage classroom tools, equipment, inventory, and instructional materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, families, and community partners to support student success.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school activities.
• Support Career and Technical Education opportunities, student organizations, or extracurricular programs as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grades.
