Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician for its water treatment systems. You will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, PLCs, and control components across water treatment skids, ensuring uptime for critical production lines.

You will read schematics and P&IDs, maintain records, and work with engineers on commissioning and upgrades, while adhering to safety standards and 24V/480VAC electrical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in industrial maintenance, instrumentation, or electrical work.
• Experience with low voltage (24VDC) and high voltage (up to 480VAC).

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair industrial instrumentation (pH, ORP, conductivity, etc.).
• Troubleshoot control panels, PLCs (Allen Bradley/Siemens), VFDs, and motor starters.
• Diagnose 4-20mA, 0-10V, and digital loops (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Optimize chemical dosing pumps and automated valves with the operations team.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems.
• Assist engineers with commissioning of new water treatment equipment.
• Read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and logic diagrams to find root causes.
• Maintain calibration and maintenance records.
• Configure data acquisition hardware and HMIs.
