Job summary

Nexus Health Systems seeks a Plumber / Facilities Maintenance Technician to support Nexus Children’s Hospitals in the Houston Market. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining hospital plumbing systems and related equipment while assisting with general facility maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; plumbing trade program preferred.
• 2+ years of professional plumbing or facilities maintenance experience.
• Plumbing license in Texas strongly preferred; related certifications a plus.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare facilities a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as plumbing-focused maintainer across Nexus Children’s Hospitals in Houston Market.
• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and failures.
• Address plumbing emergencies promptly with minimal patient care disruption.
• Read blueprints and specs; manage maintenance journals and work orders.
• Support general maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and building systems as needed.
• Assist with renovations and facility improvement projects involving plumbing.
• Maintain tools, parts, and documentation for timely repairs.
