Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanic shop, construction, or equipment repair environment preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, or diesel engines is an advantage.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow directions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.
• Prepare work areas by gathering tools, equipment, and materials needed for scheduled jobs.
• Perform basic service tasks like changing oil, replacing filters, and lubricating equipment.
• Help troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision.
• Operate shop tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop/worksite.
• Transport parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE.
• Support recordkeeping of repairs and maintenance logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
