Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, or diesel engines is an advantage.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow directions.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Valid driver's license with a clean record preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist mechanics with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.
Prepare work areas by gathering tools, equipment, and materials needed for scheduled jobs.
Perform basic service tasks like changing oil, replacing filters, and lubricating equipment.
Help troubleshoot mechanical issues under supervision.
Operate shop tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely.
Maintain a clean and organized shop/worksite.
Transport parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE.
Support recordkeeping of repairs and maintenance logs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
