Job summary

McCabe's Mechanical Services in Georgetown, DE, part of the Grote Company, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee shop equipment, forklifts, vehicles, and the facility. This role combines repair work with preventive maintenance and coordination of outside services.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, CDL, and the ability to manage maintenance records and safety inspections. Expect a day shift with potential for overtime.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance or related hands-on experience.
• Valid CDL and safe driving record.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Ability to organize preventive maintenance and maintenance records.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair shop machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Develop and maintain preventive-maintenance schedules for equipment, forklifts, and vehicles.
• Coordinate repairs or service with outside vendors as needed.
• Schedule routine vehicle maintenance and maintain service records.
• Perform safety inspections of fire extinguishers and building systems.
• Maintain building, grounds, and utility systems; monitor pipes and HVAC.
• Complete general mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building repairs.
• Load trucks for transport and assist with deliveries to plants or customers.
• Keep work areas clean, prioritize repairs, and communicate with management.
