Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern to join the BMC Development team in Austin. You will write firmware in C/C++/Python in a Linux environment, contribute to test automation, and perform hardware–software debugging and lab testing.

You will work on low-level firmware for advanced AI compute systems, gaining hands-on exposure with production-quality engineering tasks and clear guidance from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a closely related field
• Foundational programming skills in C, C++ or Python
• Understanding of computer architecture, embedded systems, firmware or low-level software concepts
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line development tools
• Interest in hands-on firmware development, debugging, testing and hardware–software interaction

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware, write and test code in C, C++ or Python within a Linux development environment
• Contribute to test automation, engineering experiments and lab-based system testing
• Debug hardware–software interactions and document findings; learn from experienced engineers
