Job summary

Youth For Christ USA Inc. is seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, repairs, and building operations. You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and janitorial contracts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes.

The role requires budgeting, vendor management, and on-call availability, with a must-have valid California driver's license and the ability to work independently to keep a safe, well‑functioning environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate; some college preferred; knowledge of trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access.
• Must have a valid California driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and manages annual maintenance budget for review by YFC local board.
• Oversees Buildings, Grounds, and Systems, ensuring a well-running, compliant facility including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and contractors; negotiates contracts and obtains quotes.
• Conducts inspections of Buildings and Grounds and sources parts, labor, and materials.
• Manages inventory and procurement of electrical/lighting supplies, kitchen equipment, and tools.
• Performs hands-on maintenance tasks: door hardware, lighting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs.
• Manages maintenance contracts (landscaping, HVAC, life safety, elevators, janitorial, etc.).
• Issues and stores keys; handles outgoing mail logistics.
• Maintains administrative processes for the facilities role.
• Negotiates contracts with food vendors and manages Waste Management and Recycling.
• Supports IT by assisting end users with hardware and peripherals and setups for staff meetings.
