Job summary

STS Technical Services in Liberty, Missouri is seeking an Equipment Mechanic (Mechanic I) to perform repairs, calibrations and maintenance in a manufacturing environment. The role supports Assemblers and requires use of diagnostic tools and basic electrical/hydraulic knowledge.

Responsibilities include wiring, installations, troubleshooting, and following safety protocols while maintaining attendance and quality standards. The position is full-time and non-exempt with regular hours on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience with hydraulic, electrical, gas and diesel systems.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic understanding of DC electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and understand basic prints and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to use iPad or laptop to enter information.
• Ability to use basic testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable, regular on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete equipment repairs and service requirements outlined in sales change orders.
• Install equipment accessories, including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights.
• Perform basic equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist with equipment diagnosis and repair activities.
• Guide and assist Assemblers in developing troubleshooting knowledge.
• Follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Maintain attention to detail and comply with quality standards.
• Apply basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulic systems.
• Read and understand basic electrical and hydraulic prints.
• Use diagnostic tools and enter findings into company systems.
• Learn to operate a forklift as required.
• Help maintain inventory through data entry.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and attendance rules.
• Work overtime and extended schedules as required.
• Perform other assigned duties.
