Job summary

Applus Keystone, a regulatory compliance test lab in New Castle, PA, seeks a Mechanical Test Technician. Responsibilities include hands-on environmental and mechanical testing and operating specialized test equipment. The role requires independence, self-motivation, and good time management.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with machining/welding/fabrication, and proficiency in MS Office. Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work on-site in New Castle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of relevant testing or mechanical lab experience.
• Experience with machining, welding, fabrication, HVAC, electricity and electronics is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand/sit/walk during testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Environmental and Mechanical Testing: test components/assemblies under vibration, thermal cycling, humidity, altitude, corrosion, ingress protection, and more.
• Set Up and Operate Test Equipment: use electrodynamic shakers, thermal chambers, humidity chambers, and environmental test chambers.
• Fabricate and Maintain Test Fixtures: assist design/ fabrication and maintenance of fixtures for repeatable testing.
• Collect and Analyze Data: record data, perform preliminary analyses, report findings to engineers.
• Troubleshoot Test Setups: identify and resolve issues with equipment, fixtures, or specimens.
• Maintain Test Equipment: perform routine maintenance and calibration to ensure reliability and standards.
• Ensure Safety and Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and standards.
• Support Documentation Efforts: assist in preparing data logs and observations for final reports.
