Job summary

IKO Industries is offering an Engineering & Safety Internship in Sumas, Washington. You will work with Process Engineers and HSE professionals to support safety and operational improvements, and help develop JHAs and SWIs for equipment.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning in a manufacturing setting, with exposure to P&ID reviews, 5S initiatives, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a related engineering or safety degree.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with MS Office; lean/5S knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and maintenance of JHAs and SWIs.
• Create JHAs and SWIs for equipment.
• Support 5S audits and continuous improvement projects.
• Identify safety, process, and operational improvements.
• Assist with P&ID reviews and updates.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data for projects.
