Job summary

Progressive Machine & Design is seeking a Controls Hardware Design Engineer II to join our growing team in Victor, NY. You will develop controls hardware for turnkey automation projects, working with mechanical and software teams from concept through commissioning on-site.

The role requires 5–10 years of hands-on experience, strong AutoCad Electrical skills, and familiarity with NFP79/UL508a/CE/CSA standards.

Qualifications

• BS in EE, EET, Mechatronics or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years experience with multiple listed standards and tools.
• Proficient in AutoCad Electrical and safety calculations.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on medium sized or average complexity projects.
• Review requirements, proposals, and safety standards for compliance.
• Attend Mechanical Design Reviews to align Controls Hardware design.
• Translate device lists into Controls Hardware elements.
• Draft using AutoCad Electrical and develop symbols/circuits.
• Create control enclosure and panel layouts; BOM ownership.
