Job summary

CKC Automation seeks a hands-on Controls & Data Engineering Manager to lead a talented team of engineers in delivering end-to-end automation projects—from concept to commissioning—on customer sites in the Bay Area. You will stay close to the work, drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with sales, PMs, and customers to scope solutions and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years in industrial automation / controls engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Controls & Data Engineers in a high‑performance, accountable environment
• Provide technical mentorship and career development across experience levels
• Oversee execution of automation projects from concept through commissioning
• Review and approve control system designs and automation architectures
• Drive on‑time, on‑budget, high‑quality project delivery
• Partner with Sales on project estimates, proposals, and scope development
• Stay current on automation technologies and drive adoption of new tools and standards
• Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning
• Maintain ~50% billable utilization while leading the team
