Job summary

Lambrecht Auction, Inc. seeks a hands-on Controller to strengthen financial systems, own monthly closes, and provide clear information for decision making in a multi-entity family business. You will maintain accounts, improve cash visibility, and build repeatable processes rather than just review others’ work.

You should understand budgets, cash flow, debt, tax planning concepts, and partner with specialized advisors. This is not a CFO role, but a core financial leader for growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience owning monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close
• Strong multi-entity accounting, cash-management, and intercompany reporting experience
• Ability to prepare financial statements, job-level reporting, budgets, forecasts, and management summaries
• Experience creating accurate packages for accountants, lenders, attorneys, or other outside professionals
• Ability to maintain compliance records, ownership documentation, and organized financial files
• Sound judgement when handling confidential company and ownership information
• Ability to build structure in an environment where every system may not already be fully developed
• Clear communication and the ability to explain financial information in practical business terms

Responsibilities

• Financial Close and Reporting - Maintain accurate accounts and organize the overall accountingfunction. Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including account reconciliations. Prepare accurate income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, job-level profit-and-loss reports, and inventory reporting.
• Budgeting and Performance Management - Build practical budgets using historical performance, maintain financial models aligned with the company’s financial goals, and track financial KPIs and operating throughput. Provide a clearweekly financial summary to ownership.
• Cash Flow and Working Capital - Monitor cash within each entity and between entities, maintain a reliable weekly cash-position report, and identify cash concerns before they become urgent.
• Entity Compliance and Financial Records - Coordinate annual entity renewals, minutes, and state compliance. Maintain clean ownership records, intercompany documentation, and organized asset information.
• Professional Reporting Packages - Prepare accurate, complete information for accountants, lenders, attorneys, tax strategists, and other financial advisors. Support depreciation, insurance, and retirement-planning reviews by supplying reliable records and documentation.
• Debt and Banking Support - Maintain a complete debt schedule and monitor loan payments and balances. Review loan terms and contribute informed input on interest costs, paydown priorities, lender metrics, and lines of credit without being expected to independently set CFO-level banking strategy.
• Vendor and Credit Management - Maintain vendor reference information for purchasing and monitor business credit activity
• Special Projects - Once the core accounting and cash-management systems are stable, support insurance reviews, asset-return analysis, growth forecasting, capital projects, facility planning, acquisitions, and cost-segregation coordination.
