Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Cleveland, OH is offering an Intern position to assist safety and loss control on construction projects and at the office location. You will work under supervision to support Building L.I.F.E.

and safety programs and help conduct trainings and inspections. The role requires enrollment in a college program in Occupational Safety & Health or related field, with at least one year of study completed, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in college or university in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field, with at least 1 year completed.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Desire to learn about construction management and industry.
• Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing safety programs on construction projects and office locations.
• Help identify and report safety violations and unsafe practices.
• Coordinate safety duties for safety committees, preplanning meetings and tool box talks.
• Assist with training at safety meetings, tool box talks, and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for completeness and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain safety records and incident metrics.
