Lakeshore Sport and Fitness is seeking a Construction Project Manager or General Contractor to oversee commercial construction and renovation projects across the Chicago area and Wisconsin. This role requires hands-on field involvement, from concept to completion, with responsibility for scopes, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects or as a General Contractor.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, building systems, materials, and sequencing.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Experience managing budgets and scheduling subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial construction projects from planning through completion.
• Manage new builds, renovations, tenant improvements, and facility upgrades.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and timelines.
• Coordinate and supervise in-house construction team across sites.
• Hire, schedule, and oversee subcontractors and vendors.
• Order materials and control project costs.
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Read and interpret architectural plans and specs.
• Coordinate permits, inspections, and closeout.
• Identify issues and develop practical solutions.
• Maintain project documentation and budgets.
• Assist with field installations and punch lists.
• Lead with accountability, craftsmanship, and teamwork.
