Job summary

The Peabody Essex Museum invites applicants for the Collections Registration Internship in Rowley, Massachusetts. Interns will learn to manage collection information, adhere to documentation standards, and gain hands-on experience with the MuseumPlus collection management system.

Based primarily at the Hawkes Collection Center in Rowley, with occasional work at the Salem museum, the internship includes a $2,000 stipend and requires 180 hours over twelve weeks, roughly 15 onsite hours per week,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates, pursuing or holding a degree in Museum Studies, Library Science, Art, Art History, or a related field.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and discretion with sensitive materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus; experience with museum databases is a plus.
