Job summary

Fehr Graham is seeking Civil Engineering interns to work on a variety of municipal and environmental projects across IL, IA & WI. The role offers hands-on learning, exposure to field and office work, and the opportunity to contribute to real projects with a supportive team.

You will report to a Project Manager and gain experience in construction observation, CAD, and design calculations while developing leadership skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Civil Engineering.
• Familiar with or able to read blueprints.
• Able to work well independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; must be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction observation, measuring quantities and ensuring standards.
• Possible exposure to surveying.
• Review and edit engineering plans to Fehr Graham standards.
• Occasional office or field work; sharpen CAD skills and basic design computations.
• Learn engineering standards and compliance with state/local regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists and others; develop leadership skills.
