Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Hardware/PCBA Bench Testing Engineer for our client Automotive Electronics / Infotainment & Telematics in Palo Alto, CA. You will perform bench-level testing of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs, set up test benches, document test cases, and report defects.

The role requires hands-on hardware testing expertise, strong electrical fundamentals, and a disciplined approach to test execution and documentation to ensure ECU functionality and timely defect reporting.

Qualifications

• Bench-level PCB/PCBA testing and validation experience.
• Strong oscilloscope usage for signal measurement.
• Board-level debugging and soldering/desoldering of SMD components.
• Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet testing and low-level electrical measurements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with correct probe placement.
• Complete test lifecycle ownership from setup to analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench level testing of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs, ensuring proper functionality, quality validation, and issue diagnosis.
• Set up and execute test benches, lab equipment, and validation setups for ECU features.
• Create, execute, and document test cases; analyze results; and report defects with clear, actionable findings.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, and log analyzers.
• Support ECU integration activities including flashing and configuration, and assist with regression testing for new releases or updates.
