Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Vermont is seeking an Animal Care Technician – Lab Operations to join our team. The role combines hands-on animal care with laboratory production activities on a rural farm setting.

You will support antisera production and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with livestock or in a lab environment, and a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working on a farm and/or with livestock.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for our sheep, including feeding, watering, bedding, and routine mucking.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized farm and laboratory environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team to support animal welfare, product quality, and production needs.
• Assist with weekly animal sorting and other production activities.
• Maintain accurate and complete records.
• Process antisera and support day-to-day production activities.
• Collect blood through plasmapheresis procedures.
• Administer antigens and perform test bleeds.
