Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Optical Science, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years in a technical, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply root-cause techniques.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support optical fabrication processes such as blocking, grinding, polishing, CNC machining.
• Assist with opto-mechanical and optical assembly tasks including bonding and alignment.
• Support development of stable, repeatable processes meeting specs and cost targets.
• Participate in experiments, DOEs, capability studies, and process qualifications.
• Operate precision optical test equipment including interferometers and profilometers.
• Observe and report metrology or process anomalies and help troubleshoot causes.
• Support daily manufacturing activities to keep production moving on schedule.
• Assist with quality/yield issues and equipment performance troubleshooting.
• Participate in corrective action teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to documentation updates and evaluate new equipment/methods.
