Job summary

Alvin Community College seeks a part-time Instructor in its CEWD team to provide hands-on instruction in 3D design, additive manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. The role supports students from concept to prototype and aligns with industry standards.

Assigned hours are limited to 19 per week, with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants should hold an associate degree in a related field and have CAD/3D printing experience; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combined education/industry experience.
• Experience with 3D printing, setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Experience with CAD/digital modeling tools and teaching concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including days/evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on instruction in 3D design, modeling, additive manufacturing, and prototyping.
• Teach CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Tinkercad, Blender, AutoCAD.
• Guide product development from concept to functional prototype creation.
• Develop and facilitate workshops on 3D printing and entrepreneurship.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 3D printers and related equipment.
• Provide technical mentorship to students developing prototypes and business concepts.
• Collaborate with CEWD staff, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
• Maintain program records and documentation.
