Job summary

FedEx in Miami, FL is seeking a Handler / Shuttle Driver for a Monday to Friday 7 am – 2 pm schedule. The role involves moving packages, loading and unloading with mechanized ramp equipment, and operating a shuttle using a non-articulated vehicle.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk and stand, and work in various weather conditions. This non-safety-sensitive position emphasizes safety, clear communication in a noisy operations environment, and the ability to follow traffic signs

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 lbs without assistance.

• Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level and stack as required.
• Able to work in all weather conditions at the work location.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders if required.
• Able to communicate in English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and directions.

Job description

Provides movement of packages in a safe and efficient manner; to operate mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages; to perform shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle. Performs other duties as assigned.

HANDLER / SHUTTLE DRIVER MONDAY - FRIDAY 7 am - 2 pm

The desired location for this position would be Miami, FL. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Able to walk and stand for designated work hours. Able to bend and squat for designated work hours.Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level. Ability to maneuver packages in enclosed spaces and stack packages above one's head if required at location. Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location.Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location. Ability to work with power and hand tools. Able to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment, is required.Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Medical exam required in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations. Must meet qualifications as outlined in Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
