HANDA PHARMA

Handa was founded in 2014 with a clear focus and dedication to pharmaceutical formulation research and dosage-form design. Their shared goal was to successfully compete where the science is hardest: 505(b)(2) category drugs and high-barrier generics that offer effective treatment and hope for hard-to-treat patients.

Today, Handa is an internationally integrated research-driven company with formulation science at its core. We expertly manage every stage of development through submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Handa’s leadership consistently builds strong and effective teams, high-quality product portfolios, and successful pharmaceutical businesses. From our headquarters in San Jose, California, and our center for global operations and R&D at Tainan Science Park in Taiwan, we have extended our reach and impact into the world’s two largest pharmaceutical markets—the United States and China.

Our first commercialized oncology product, OMCAZIO capsules, has received FDA tentative approval for advanced renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma and extra-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and will be made available to patients following FDA final approval. With a robust pipeline of additional indications and therapeutic candidates, we anticipate rapid and sustained growth for the foreseeable future.

Position Summary

The Key Account Manager is an account-based oncology sales role responsible for driving demand, influencing adoption, and owning territory results within an assigned geography during Handa Pharma's inaugural oncology launch. This role builds clinical advocacy among oncologists, pharmacy, nursing and practice leadership, secures pathway and formulary access, and removes the coverage and fulfillment barriers that delay patients starting therapy. Success requires an experienced oncology sales professional with a demonstrated ability to execute in complex practice and health system environments, launch new products, build territories from the ground up, and consistently deliver results.

This position will initially be on a contract basis with the intent to convert to full-time in the near future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans for priority accounts within the assigned territory.

  • Secure clinical pathway inclusion and health system formulary listing where the system dispenses, in partnership with Market Access.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and provide actionable field insights to inform strategy and execution.
  • Operate within all promotional, privacy and transparency policies, and route requests beyond approved labeling to Medical Affairs.
Qualifications
  • Proven success managing complex healthcare accounts and multiple stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of biopharmaceutical sales experience, including 3+ years in specialty pharmaceuticals with a strong preference for oncology expertise.

  • Account-level selling experience with oral oncolytic or other specialty pharmacy-dispensed products.
  • Demonstrated experience securing clinical pathway inclusion and navigating Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) or formulary processes.
  • Working knowledge of payer coverage, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy distribution and patient support program workflows.
  • Prior experience launching new products and building territories or businesses from the ground up required.
  • Established relationships in oncology centers of excellence preferred.
  • Experience using CRM and sales analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs) and contribute to a high-performing, team-oriented culture.

  • Clinical fluency sufficient to engage oncologists in substantive data discussions.
  • Highly effective consultative seller with strong clinical and business acumen.

  • Self-directed, resilient, and energized by early-stage growth and ambiguity.
  • Sound judgment and an uncompromising commitment to compliant promotion.

  • Field-based role with a home office; 20-40% travel within an assigned territory, including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record required and maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be able to meet site-access and credentialing requirements for assigned practices and health systems, and to lift and transport materials of up to 25 lbs.
