Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to lead a growing Hand & Upper Extremity program. The role offers autonomy to design and elevate the service line within a Level III trauma center, with strong referral streams and a supportive multi-team environment.

Ideal candidates have fellowship training in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery and ABOS certification or eligibility, with licensure to practice in Iowa and Illinois.

Qualifications

• MD or DO is required.
• Fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery is required.
• ABOS certification or eligibility is required.
• Licensure in Iowa and Illinois is required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Shape a best-in-class hand surgery program within a growing department.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anesthesia, hospitalists and therapy teams to optimize outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive care for hand, wrist, forearm and elbow pathologies.
• Build and lead a high-performing team within a Level III trauma center.

Education

MD or DO

Fellowship trained in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery

ABOS Board Certified or Board Eligible

Ability to obtain Iowa and Illinois medical licenses
